Gingival Cyst

Definition

Minute self-resolving squamous-lined cyst (dental lamina cyst) in newborns or rarely in adults in the gingiva.

Clinical Features

  • Presentation:
    • minute cystic or nodular formations
    • most neonates
    • occasionally adult1
  • Gradually disappear:
    • usually in weeks2,3

Differential Diagnosis

  • Other epithelium-lined cysts of maxilla or mandible6–10
